Best Sewing Hashtags to Gain Followers in 2020

Sharing your handmade outfits on social media is a great way to document your sewing journey. By capturing all your makes with a picture, you can scroll through the feed to look back on all your sewing accomplishments.

It also allows you to be part of an online sewing community and with that, get inspiration from what other people make, reach out to likeminded people and exchange compliments for handmade outfits.

Even if you don’t post pictures yourself, it can be helpful to know some hashtags to see what a pattern or a fabric looks like on someone else or to come across amazing hacks other sewists might have come up with.

You will get a full list of tips and tricks about how to find the best hashtags. Once you’re subscribed, the email will be in your inbox soon. If you’re not, below a little teaser with two ideas.

Use Niche Hashtags

There are a lot of niches in the sewing community and they use their own hashtags. Find your niche and use the corresponding hashtags to be part of it. Some examples:

#curvysewing
#blackgirlsew
#londonsews
#menwhosew
#millenialsewing

Use The Pattern & Fabric Hashtags

Most patterns have a hashtag that you can use when sharing your picture. If you mention the designer with an @ in your post, they will be notified and might even reshare your make. The same goes for some fabrics. Are you looking for inspiration? Here‘s a post about 29 independent sewing pattern stores you need to know in 2020.

Are there other hashtags you’re using which are not listed above? Leave me a comment below.
